|Taiwan's Only Fossil Museum: Tainan Zuojhen Fossil Park

Zuozhen Fossil Park has an extensive collection of marine and terrestrial fossils, including mammoths, saber-toothed elephants, ancient deer, crocodiles, and shellfish. The abundance of terrestrial vertebrate fossils unearthed here is a significant feature. Combined with treasures like the Zuozhen human skull fragments and the reconstructed skeleton of the Early Saka Chinese rhinoceros, this park is an irreplaceable fossil treasure trove in Taiwan. Today, Zuozhen Fossil Park has evolved from a single building into five major exhibition halls. If you want to explore the ancient world's creatures, Zuozhen Fossil Park is the place to visit!

Step into the Time Corridor and listen to the story of how Zuozhen Fossil Park came to be. Encounter the Siraya people who once lived along the Cailiao River, and observe traces of their past lives and traditional culture!

Travel back to the dawn of Earth and embark on a journey through billions of years of life's evolution! Witness the marine life's battle to reach the shore, the dominance of the mighty dinosaurs, followed by the rise and flourishing of mammals, and the thriving development of prehistoric humans. Experience the grandeur and decline of life's evolution on Earth.

Visit the fossil restoration room and see how experts excavate, clean, and restore fossils! The Elephant Family exhibit showcases elephant fossils found in Taiwan, offering a deeper understanding of the Oriental saber-toothed elephant, the grassland mammoth, and the Huai River ancient stegodon. In the first-floor exploration classroom, you can even play with and feed the animals you color yourself!

The museum's interactive installations allow both adults and children to learn about the fascinating stories of animals from thousands of years ago through engaging games!
