Meiling is situated in Nanaxi District, Tainan City. Tt was previously named Mountain Banana in earlier days due to its fertile soils to profusely produce bananas. And when the economic value of banana dropped, the farmers switched to plant plums. During January and February every year, the white blossoms all over the whole mountain are amazing, so the former vice president, Mr. Dongming Xie ever named it “Meiling” which has been kept ever since. The mountain areas around Meiling are with good views and quite easy for the public to climb up over the weekends. The main climbing routes in Meiling from north to south are Wulong, Meifeng, Guanyin and Meilong climbing routes.
