In 2001, the very last buffalo in Tugou Village woke up a group of people composed of farmers, carpenters, and cement workers to establish Tugou Village Cultural Development Association. They didn’t really aim to build up an extravagant, new modern village, but to gain back the dignity of rooting here and carry on the ancestors’ legacy. Tugou Village Cultural Development Association claimed to find out the spirits of buffalo, the land dignity, and the core life values to pass down to their next generation.
