Nankunshen Daitian Temple was founded in 1661, taking up a space of 60,000 pins. Five Wangyes for people to worship here are Li, Chi, Wu, Zhu, and Fan Wangyes. Nankunshen Daitian Temple is the oldest temple with the great capacity in Taiwan. Whenever the birthdays of Wangyes arrive, there would be Chieftain Ceremonies attracting followers to come to do the pilgrimage. The delicate sculptures, colorful paintings, and fascinating, traditional cutting and clay art pieces in Nankunshen Daitian Temple are extraordinary; that’s also why Ministry of the Interior in 1981 validated it as a Grade II Historical Site.
